Reminiscent of Cake at their starkest with a Loud Reed-like street talking vibe, spoken word pop usually leaves me cold, but there’s something so earthy about this release! Also, what’s with all the band names including the word Black? Is Black the new Black? Aye curumba!

Indie Pop starlets have been surviving a bit of a backlash of late, mainly in America (where they expect all bands to have a stadium-filling grunge like edge to their performance to qualify it as something great or deserving of the hype their first 2 singles brought) the truth is, this music needs to be performed with a little less machismo and a little more subtlety, otherwise the pop genius will be buried in bravado, and we’ve got enough of that in our musical climate right now…

Rocking like it’s 1980, these guys certainly bring something more exciting to the large list of revival bands currently rocking out post-Darkness, definitely worth checking out!
